Enrollment at Mount Enterprise ISD schools increased by 6.2% compared to previous school year

There were 496 students enrolled in Mount Enterprise ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 6.2% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.2% of them were girls, and 48.8% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 72.6% of the Mount Enterprise ISD total enrollment.

Mount Enterprise ISD roughly covers schools within Rusk County with its main office in Mount Enterprise.

Among the two schools in Mount Enterprise ISD, Mt. Enterprise Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 257 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
