There were 813 students enrolled in Elysian Fields ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.6% of them were girls, and 49.4% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 80.7% of the Elysian Fields ISD total enrollment.

Elysian Fields ISD roughly covers schools within Harrison County with its main office in Waskom.

Among the three schools in Elysian Fields ISD, Elysian Fields Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 374 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
