Enrollment Analysis: Asian students comprised 1.7% of Mount Enterprise ISD schools' student body in 2021-22 school year

There were eight Asian students enrolled in Mount Enterprise ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 33.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Mount Enterprise ISD schools welcomed 467 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 1.7% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Mount Enterprise ISD roughly covers schools within Rusk County and has a main office in Mount Enterprise.

Among the two schools in Mount Enterprise ISD schools, Mt. Enterprise Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of five students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
