There were 5,070 students enrolled in Marshall ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, a slight increase compared to the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.8% of them were boys, and 49.2% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Marshall ISD students was Hispanic, accounting for 38.9% of the student population.

Marshall ISD roughly covers schools within Harrison County with its main office in Marshall.

Among the eight schools in Marshall ISD, Marshall High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,363 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
