Hallsville Independent School District issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.
In a virtual special board meeting held today, the Hallsville Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to increase the daily pay rate for subs. This move comes after the need for subs increased sharply during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the district wants to encourage more candidates to become subs and to retain the ones that they currently have.
The new daily rates are as follows:
• $146.10 per day for Certified and Long-Term Certified (increased from $105 per day)
• $120.00 per day for Degreed, but non-certified (new category)
• $100.00 per day for Non-Certified (increased from $75 per day)
The new rates are effective immediately (11/21/2020) and will remain in place for the remainder of the 2020-2021 academic year.
