How many Asian students were enrolled in Union Hill ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were two Asian students enrolled in Union Hill ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 60% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Union Hill ISD schools welcomed 254 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 0.8% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Union Hill ISD roughly covers schools within Upshur County and has a main office in Gilmer.

Both schools in Union Hill ISD schools enrolled one Asian students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
