There were 1,186 students enrolled in New Diana ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.9% of them were boys, and 48.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 75.1% of the New Diana ISD total enrollment.

New Diana ISD roughly covers schools within Upshur County with its main office in Diana.

Among the three schools in New Diana ISD, Robert F. Hunt Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 574 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
