There were 1,563 students enrolled in Sabine ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.2% of them were boys, and 48.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 68% of the Sabine ISD total enrollment.

Sabine ISD roughly covers schools within Gregg County with its main office in Gladewater.

Among the three schools in Sabine ISD, Sabine Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 734 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
