There were 91 Hispanic students enrolled in Big Sandy ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 35.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Big Sandy ISD schools welcomed 659 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 13.8% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Big Sandy ISD roughly covers schools within Upshur County and has a main office in Big Sandy.

Among the three schools in Big Sandy ISD schools, Big Sandy Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 52 students.
