How many students were enrolled in Big Sandy ISD schools in 2021-22 school year?

There were 659 students enrolled in Big Sandy ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.8% of them were boys, and 47.2% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 68.9% of the Big Sandy ISD total enrollment.

Big Sandy ISD roughly covers schools within Upshur County with its main office in Big Sandy.

Among the three schools in Big Sandy ISD, Big Sandy Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 317 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
