There were 1,531 students enrolled in Sabine ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.7% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50% of them were girls, and 50% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 67.5% of the Sabine ISD total enrollment.

Sabine ISD roughly covers schools within Gregg County with its main office in Gladewater.

Among the three schools in Sabine ISD, Sabine Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 732 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
