There were 8,236 students enrolled in Longview ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, a slight decrease from the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52% of them were boys, and 48% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Longview ISD students was Hispanic, accounting for 40.8% of the student population.

Longview ISD roughly covers schools within Gregg County with its main office in Longview.

Among the 14 schools in Longview ISD, Longview High School recorded the highest enrollment of 2,069 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
