There were 703 students enrolled in Union Grove ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.4% of them were girls, and 49.6% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 86.6% of the Union Grove ISD total enrollment.

Union Grove ISD roughly covers schools within Upshur County with its main office in Gladewater.

Among the three schools in Union Grove ISD, Union Grove Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 378 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
