Marshall Small Business Grant Fund has awarded $2,500 to Central Perks.

The reimbursement grant program was approved by the Marshall City Commission to support local businesses that have redesigned their operations in response to the coronavirus pandemic. A one-time reimbursement of up to $2,500 will be provided through the grant for businesses that have purchased new equipment, software, supplies, safety equipment and went through financial hardship.

“Central Perks offers special thanks to the City of Marshall for making this grant available to help businesses like ours that took a dramatic financial hit due to COVID-19,” owners Robert and Debra Sorich said. The business has been a local favorite and has placed No. 1 on TripAdvisor for more than 10 years, its website states.

City Council members approved 10 new applications from Marshall small businesses. The city also accepted an additional $153,973 of CDBG funds to be used towards the Small Business Grant Fund.

To apply for a grant, visit the city's website.
