Multiple drilling permits issued for Panola County wells

Texas Railroad Commission records show many companies filed for permits to drill in Panola County at the end of 2019.

Three drilling permits were approved for Petroquest Energy LLC. A horizontal well 14.5 miles northeast of Carthage permit was approved and two for 15.8 miles east of Carthage were approved. 

Tanos Exploration II was approved for five permits: one vertical recompletion 7.9 miles east of Gary and four permits southwest of Clayton. Two of those were vertical recompletion wells 5.9 and 3.3 miles southwest. The other two were horizontal wells 2.5 miles and 2.3 miles southwest of Clayton. 

Drilling permits for three horizontal wells were approved for Comstock Oil & Gas. All three of these permits are for wells 1.9 miles southeast of Elysian Fields. Two more permits were issued to the company for 5.3 miles northeast of Carthage. Both are horizontal wells.

Three drilling permits for horizontal wells were approved for R. Lacy Services. All three wells are 8.5 miles north of Carthage. 

Rockcliff Energy Operating was approved for 14 permits for DeBerry: two permits for horizontal wells 3.5 miles south of DeBerry; three horizontal wells 7 miles east of the city; one 5.6 miles southeast and one 5.5 miles southeast. Another horizontal well permit was issued for 0.75 miles southwest of DeBerry. Two more horizontal wells were issued for 11 miles southeast of the city. Two were issued 7 miles east of DeBerry and another two horizontal wells were approved for 3.5 miles south of DeBerry. 

Sheridan Production Co. received two permits for Carthage. They are both vertical recompletions 6 miles southwest and 3.8 miles northeast of Carthage. 

Two vertical recompletions, one 8 miles southwest and one 2.75 miles northeast of Carthage, were approved for Sheridan Production Co III. 

AC Exploration LLC was given a vertical recompletion permit for 15.1 miles southwest of Carthage. 

Two more companies were issued permits for horizontal wells. Sabine Oil & Gase Corp. was given one for 17.59 miles northeast and KJ Energy was issued one for 13.6 miles southwest of Carthage.
