On December 9, 2024, Congressman Moran extended his sympathies via Twitter regarding the loss suffered by fellow Congressman Michael Burgess. “Friends, please pray for @michaelcburgess and his family as they navigate the heartbreaking loss of his daughter. I pray for comfort for them as they grieve the loss of a child, a daughter, and a sister.”

The following day on December 10, 2024, Moran called for prayers for the First Methodist Church congregation in Marshall after their place of worship was lost to fire. He also acknowledged the efforts of first responders who worked quickly to manage the situation. “Please join me in praying for the First Methodist Church congregation in Marshall as they endure the loss of their place of worship. Thank you to the first responders who swiftly worked to extinguish the flames.”
