Congressman Nathaniel Moran, representing Texas’ 1st district, shared several updates on his recent legislative activities through social media. Having replaced former Congressman Louie Gohmert in 2023, Moran continues to engage with policy initiatives relevant to both national and international concerns.

On May 14, 2025, Moran highlighted the passage of a significant piece of legislation by the Ways and Means Committee. “TODAY: @WaysandMeansGOP passed our portion of the One Big, Beautiful Bill, taking a critical step to DELIVER on the promises President Trump and @HouseGOP made to the American people,” he stated. This bill aims to make permanent the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts and prevent what Moran describes as “the LARGEST tax increase in US history.”

In a tweet dated May 15, 2025, Moran announced his re-introduction of the Strong Communities Act during National Police Week. He expressed support for law enforcement personnel with “During #NationalPoliceWeek, I re-introduced the Strong Communities Act—a bill to help, recruit and retain law enforcement officers from within the communities they serve.” He emphasized gratitude towards those who serve locally.

On matters of international security, particularly regarding Taiwan’s energy resilience against China’s influence, Moran addressed these issues at a committee hearing. In a tweet from May 15, 2025, he stated: “If Taiwan runs out of energy, it plays right into the hands of the CCP.” He inquired about how U.S. states like Texas can assist Taiwan in maintaining its energy security.

Nathaniel Moran was born in Whitehouse, Texas in 1974 and still resides there today. He earned his BA and JD from Texas Tech University.
