Congressman Nathaniel Moran, representing Texas’ 1st District, has been active on social media discussing various policy issues and legislative actions. Serving since 2023 after replacing Louie Gohmert, Moran has used his platform to address national security concerns and economic policies.

On May 8, 2025, Congressman Moran expressed concern over foreign influence in American academic institutions. “China has funneled $57B into U.S. research institutions—buying access to data, systems, and intellectual property,” he stated. He highlighted the risks of such investments as a national security threat due to the Chinese Communist Party gaining a presence on college campuses. This statement came in support of the House GOP’s passage of the DHS Restrictions on Confucius Institutes.

Later that day, Moran endorsed a fiscal policy proposal aimed at benefiting workers and businesses. In his words, “No Tax on Overtime is pro-growth, pro-business, pro-worker policy!” The congressman linked to additional information about this proposal through a tweet posted at 16:01 UTC.

On May 10, 2025, Moran announced an upcoming legislative event involving significant tax legislation. He invited constituents to tune in for a Ways and Means Committee markup session scheduled for May 13th at 2 PM ET. “You’re going to see a great battle as we fight on your behalf,” he stated while referencing efforts to fulfill former President Trump’s promise of delivering comprehensive tax reform legislation.

Nathaniel Moran was born in Whitehouse, Texas in 1974 and continues to reside there today. He holds both a BA and JD from Texas Tech University.
